Uma Uma Ramen and a side of fries at Robert Timms.

Starting our day at Forum the shopping mall.
There's no other reason for me to be there besides Toys' R Us!
Walking in just made me feel like a kid all over again.
Feel like.
Apparently for my friend,
he was just a big kid.

Nerf guns.
Honestly?
He was shopping for a kid.
Seems like that was just a handy excuse for him to get one for himself.
And at last count, he modified it.
For longer distances.
And just for the record,
these sponge discs hurt alright!

So we decide on ramen.
Uma uma ramen rides on its fame as a Japanese ramen chain from Fukuoka.
The noodles here are done Hakata style with thin al dente noodles, a rich tonkotsu broth with spicy miso and topped with flavourful charsiu slices.
Sounds good?
Apparently, that's all the good there is.
Take our advice,
ramen anywhere else is a better bang for your buck.

So something's gotta make up for this hey.

Coffee break at Robert Timms at Somerset.
I love that it's always quiet here. :)

Uh huh.
It's telepathic.
My lion knows I'm angry about wasting stomach space at lunch.
White chocolate latte.

Blur bear that's too cute.
Latte.

And those fries.
Oh those thick cut fries with mayo and tomato sauce.
I've totally forgotten about my dismal lunch. :)

And just because it's been forever since we were out.
We headed to Jones to pick up some duck fat for his chicken confit attempt.

And another latte break.
That was our lazy Saturday.
Seven hours just chillaxing.

And look what I came home to!

Oh my marbled cheese brownies. :)
Yum!

Keisuke Tonkotsu King @ Orchid Hotel

You queue because you want to eat.

Choices for you Sir/ Ms?
Be prepared to wait a while for your seats.
And don't come in a group.
You'd be waiting for a long time yet.

No time for chitter chatter.
Just a lot of mouth action and slurps to be heard.
And cracking sounds...

An order of the works.
The cracking of egg shells.
Gotta love the lower cholestrol option white shelled eggs.
With japanese mayonnaise in a squeeze bottle.

While you wait for that perfectly semi runny yolked egg.
Pound away at the toasted black and white sesame seeds.
Mmm.
Fragrance.

Then there's more.
Crisp crunch of
Nori seaweed.
Fish it out before it soaks through.
Salty.
And so addictive.
Even if it means getting some green on my teeth.

Or go simple.
Red spicy.
With charsiew and black fungus.

Those white cubes of fat?
They simply slide down your throat.
Smooth.
Throw caution to the wind.
And this was my attempt at responsiblity to check off the less oil option. :)

And baby's home!
Poor love with a stomach virus.
Glad you're all better now.
He's teething.
Which means- Hello Elmo
*Arhm!

And the silliest pup.
Always wanting attention.
Then sneakily pretending to be quiet under the bed, hoping no one would notice.
Till you spot a paw or a furry tail.
Busted.

And just over the weekend,
he ran out of the house.
Hungry and lonely,
I hope you found some food and a place for shelter.
Oh come home soon. :(
