if it's savoury then i'd prefer my carrot/yam/pumpkin cakes. if i needed a sweet then it'd be my polo/haw flakes. if i needed an in between? this'll be it! :) apam balik. which i guess is synonymous with min jiang kueh (peanut pancakes) from the chinese. but the chinese have many. thin crust, thick crust, rolls, puff shaped. but the malays stay simple. and those are the ones i really love. that thick chewy pastry and sweet/salty peanut filling with or without the option of a lil cream corn. mmm. it's dangerous when served hot. you just want to cram the whole thing in your mouth. well. my mouth. :)
