Where Art comes Alive! :)

I can't actually believe that I managed to miss out on 43,000 sq feet worth of Alive Museum while I was in Jeju just a couple of months back.

No one should have to live with regrets.
And definitely not I.
Because Alive has just opened its doors at Suntec City for me to indulge myself and my friends.

Ticket prices for adults at $25 and $20 for children between the ages of 3-12 years old.

The current promotion for the month of August is a free meal at Burger King situated just next door with a purchase of a full priced ticket and a simple Like on the Alive Museum page on Facebook.

This is the biggest 3D illusionary museum in Singapore boasting over 80 masterpieces of which 9 are locally themed and unique to our little red dot.

Now whoever said a museum was boring better eat up their words.

Because our two hour long day out at the museum was a treat for the senses, a belly full of laughs, picture perfect photo moments aplenty and a place where your creativity comes to life!

Go with a bunch of spontaneous friends who aren't camera shy.

Be armed and ready with your camera at all times.

To capture these epic fail moments.

For the girls, try to avoid skirts as the disco themed room has a mirror reflective surface.
Some of the poses also require one to lie on the floor or stretch their legs out.

You wouldn't want to miss Superman would you?

Look out for photo points to position yourself to take a realistic shot for a friend.

Read the recommended photo poses so that you have an idea of how the backdrop can come alive in your picture.

Who says girls can't fight?

And maybe sometimes you can skip the posing.
I'm actually really hanging onto the pole for my dear life here.
And this awesome photo has been submitted for their Alive Postcard contest.
Join in the fun!
And while you're at it, drop a vote for me too on the link above? :)

And be ready to deal with awkward photo moments like these.

How does one receive a hadouken?

We had so much fun, time went by in a twinkle of an eye.
Brunch reservations were pushed back three times.
And it might've been more except we also had people to meet for brunch.

T'was a good Sunday out.
Yes it was. :)

And will we be back?
But of course!
Different unique paintings and exhibitions will be brought in for special occasions and about a third of their paintings are changed every 12-18 months.

Till the next photo crazy day out my beloved friends :)

Alive Museum
Suntec City Mall #03-372 (between Towers 3 and 4)
If you know where Carrefour used to be?
That's the place and head on up to the third level for the museum.
Opens from 10am-10pm daily and the last admission is at 9pm.

Thanks to omy.sg and Alive Museum for the invite!

Something new is brewing at McCafé!

The first McCafé in Singapore opened in 2003 and over the years has quietly established itself with a laidback approach to quality coffee at an unbeatable value located conveniently islandwide alongside most of your favourite McDonalds outlet.

My favourite Himalayan Tea Latte, a soothing sweet milky tea infused with notes of cinnamon for a slight spice with the cutest latte art.

In an effort to kickstart McCafé's long-term commitment to celebrate and champion creativity amongst youths in the community, McCafé will be launching a series of complimentary Coffee Appreciation Workshops to give young coffee lovers an opportunity to learn more about their coffee and have free expression of their creativity using coffee as their canvas.

Who?
Youths between the ages of 16-35

As long as you're looking like our ages, you should qualify to apply.

What?
A three hour workshop learning from the talented baristas from McCafé led by Master Trainer, Mr Hilmi Mohamed- an effervescent man who bubbles over with his passion for all things coffee.
The workshop will allow participants to discover the history of coffee and origin of McCafé, watch a latte art presentation, try their hand at handling the coffee machine to prepare a cup of Cappucino and how to froth the milk. To conclude the session, participants will get to showcase their talents and express their creativity at latte art and plate art.
And we had the privilege of being the first few to be taken on a preview of the new and exciting series of workshops for people like you and I.
The selected baristas from various outlets will patiently walk you through the process.

Telling you more about the finer points of the gold standard of foam and latte art.

As they encourage and watch you bring your creativity to life.

On a cup of latte made from McCafé's espresso with 100% Arabica beans.

Couldn't have done it without you, Hongliang from McCafé, Northpoint. Much appreciated. Thanks!

And what's plate art?

Bringing your food to life as far as your creativity brings you. Or at least, where mine brought me.

Where?
At McCafé of course.
When?
Starting in September on 6th and 13th of September where the first two sessions will be held, to coincide with the September school holidays. The sessions will be limited to a maximum of 10 participants.
The next two workshops are slated for December 2014.
How?
Registration will take place from 18th August to 1st September 2014. Simple drop them an email at : promotions@sg.mcd.com

I know where I'd be heading for my next cuppa. :)
Thanks to omy.sg for the invite and to the marketing team of McDonalds and staff at McCafé.

Ebi you heard?

If you've been surrounding your taste buds with the might of the Samurai Burger,

Look out for the next burger change from Macdonald's coming up this Thursday, 7th of November.

Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Ebi.
Ebi-who?
Ebi you heard? I'm the shrimp they don't scrimp on! :)

Settling comfortably into a zone cordoned off for the bloggers' party at The Metropolis, I was excited to see directions for folding an origami style prawn. :)
It was a brilliant way to break the ice with each other, laughing at our inadequacies in reading origami directions, fiddling with scissors and paper bits.
And keeping our frazzled nerves cool was the very refreshing Tropical Tango McFizz- tasting like a mix of mango and orange.

And did you think I wouldn't succeed?
No origami ebi, no dinner. No origami ebi, no dinner...
How's that for motivational speak!

With great pride! :)

Notwithstanding the success of the origami activity,
everyone of us had our own ebi burger.
The description that Sam (PR for Macdonalds Singapore) gave us was exactly what my tastebuds would put into words if they could speak.
A tasty combination of succulent whole shrimps in a golden breadcrumb patty, topped with thousand island sauce and crisp lettuce, in between lightly toasted sesame seed buns.
Every bite had the distinct taste of succulent shrimp.
And for double that pleasure, they're having an ebi double burger on the menu as well.
Little wonder that this is their best-selling burger from Japan!

No meal is ever complete without dessert.
Say hello to the new banana pie! :)
That same apple pie crust that has won over the hearts of many with a filling of ripened mashed bananas.
It's almost like the familiar favourite of goreng pisang but just not quite that.
Try it yourself.

Mark the date on your calendars.
Coming to you on 7th of November!
For a limited time only. :)

Many thanks to Janet from omy.sg for coordinating the event together with the PR and Marketing team from Macdonalds.
